Adela G. Ortiz is a Master of Science in Public Policy and Data Science candidate at USC Price School of Public Policy and Viterbi School of Engineering. Adela earned a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Labor Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Adela’s work focuses on making data accessible to and for directly impacted communities to inform policy and advance social change. Their interests include housing, labor, and socioeconomic mobility, with an emphasis on evidence-based, community-centered approaches to addressing structural inequities. Prior to graduate school, Adela worked with low-income tenants in Alameda County facing eviction and displacement, supporting housing stability and access to services.
